Pout Howe is a charming 18th century cottage, situated at the head of Kentmere valley. With space to sleep eight, it is ideal for families, walkers, mountain bikers, nature lovers and those who simply want to enjoy the Lake District.
This much-loved family home is rustic and solitary. If you want to escape the crowds in spectacular surroundings, then Pout Howe is a wonderful getaway. If you want a TV, en suite bathrooms and a pub within walking distance, then Pout Howe is not for you.
With stunning views of the surrounding mountains, Pout Howe is part of a hamlet of about five houses and a farm. It stands in its own grounds, with a rough grass garden and plenty of parking space. Kentmere village is 20 minutes walk from the house and the nearest shop and pub are 15 minutes drive away in Staveley, at the foot of the valley. The Cumbrian towns of Windermere and Kendal can be reached by car in half an hour.
